I baked 3 cakes and they were nice and fluffy when they came out of the oven . . . I'd say 3 inches tall - which was perfect. While they cooled, they shrank in height quite a bit and are now only about 2 inches tall. I'm not interested in baking 3 more cakes to stack on top to get the height back or I'd be eating cake for a year. I think I need a very thick, durable filling ( for a 3D car cake). Has anyone got any suggestions on how to get some height back? I need at least an inch. I suppose I could scale my cake down, but I've put a lot of money and time into the measurements and materials.
