I haven't decorated for quite a while and will be making a graduation cake and cupcakes for family this weekend...can someone tell me the best color to buy to color SMBC..the last time I did, I couldn't get it anywhere near the color I wanted...I need a medium dark blue color and seems like the large amount of butter in this frosting makes it hard to achieve....have any of you ever tried putting the white color in it first?  TY

I reckon medium dark blue is going to be very difficult. I've done pale blue but it had a greenish tinge from butter. I had added white colour first then. I've tried violet in the past to neutralise the yellow colour of the butter too.

i would airbrush to get that colour on buttercream. Can you buy a can of colour spray if you don't have an airbrush?
