I made my first shoe and tried to paint with Luster dust. All I got were a bunch of globs. what did I do wrong? Love the look but can't seem to get it right. Help!!

This has come up several times recently, try searching the forums too, but my first question is - its it real Luster Dust or the Wilton Shimmer Dust? Only because this has also been a topic of confusion on some posts recently, including me!

If you are in fact using luster dust and not shimmer dust....I get those globs to sometimes and i just add a tiny tiny bit more vodka to thin it out. Sometimes I wonder if its the cornstarch on the MMF that is dusting off into the dust. Maybe dust off your shoe or cake as much as possible first too.

I dont know if this helps but at college we were told to evenly rub the item with trex (white veg fat) or petal base and then dust the colour on. I did it in college and it came out lovely and even and shiny. Good Luck
