Hello all you experts out there, I am starting to make cakes and fondant cakes, how can I know that flavor of cakes combines well with what flavor of filling and butter cream, fondant, etc, I would very much appreciated I what to make a sample tasting with my family. Thanks in advance 
chocolate cake is good with Cookies N cream filling.Mmmmmm Good!!!!!
Try chocolate icing with lemon filling.
Almond or vanilla with strawbery or raspberry or lemon.
Coffee/cappuccino with chocolate (YUM!)
Coconut with lemon or orange or strawberry/raspberry.
Chocolate with raspberry or apricot.
Chocolate with marshmallow.
Cream cheese with any fruit flavor or coconut or pineapple.
and.......
Chocolate ganache with anything lol!
