Desperately Seeking Chocolate Icing Recipe!!
Decorating By ahilton Updated 25 Jul 2007 , 7:41pm by SimplyM
I am trying to find the recipe or even distributor for the chocolate icing used at The Great American Cookie Company. They make the cookie cakes in my area. The icing is so rich, chocolatey and thick, but can never duplicate it. End up w/ bitter icing from adding too much cocoa. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Have a request for it on a cake due tomorrow!!! Thanks!
I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but it's an incredible chocolate buttercream.

I made it for a rehearsal dinner cake yesterday and got called the morning for 4 cake orders...just because of that icing!
This one is very good and easy to make http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-2033-chocolate-syrup-frosting.html
Considering I had 3 orders to fill and a 101 temp (my hands are raw from washing them!) and that I was in tears trying to finish that cake when all I wanted to do was lay down, I was THRILLED just to hear that they loved the cake!
The extra orders are a bonus! ![]()
ahilton,
I was just searching for the same gooey, fudgy, delicious chocolate recipe for Great American Cookie Company. Was wondering if either of the two recommended recipes were close? Or have you found anything better?
I would love to have their recipe.
Melissa
