Help With Cake Dummy Please...

I'm sure this has been answered a hundred times and I did look in the forum posts. Can someone please give me detailed instructions on how to do a cake dummy? Do I cover it with bc icing then fondant?
Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I just wet mine with water just lightly and lay the fondant on it will stick I let mine dry 24 hrs before I decorate so I don't leave marks on the fondant.

I cover mine with shortening, and then the fondant.
