Cinnamon Buttercream?

I'm trying out a new cake tonight and recipe says (and sounds good to me) that cinnamon buttercream is good with this cake.
How do i make cinnamon buttercream. I need to be able to decorate with it?
can i just toss some cinnamon in my regular butter cream recipe?
I would appreciate any ideas.

i only have ground cinnamon do you think i can still pull it off?

I think you could, you just need to add it in a little at a time and taste it each time. The taste may not be as strong as with the extract in it, but it should taste good still.

Though it would call for a trip to the grocery store, I would try using a cinnamon coffee creamer (in place of milk or water). I used a different flavor, but I got a great consistency.

i have heard everyone talking about using coffee creamer before. I have never tried it. Next time i'm at the store i'll have to get some.

Wouldn't ground cinnamon affect the color?

Also, when you talk about coffee creamers do you mean liquid or powder?

I bought a liquid cinnamon extract some time ago when I saw it in the store because it sounded so interesting - but I've never used it. What kind of cake are you making? I need an excuse to bake.....

Liquid coffee creamer - use it as a substitute for the water or milk in your recipe.

The ground cinnamon will make the icing speckled, but it looks nice on a cinnamon cake.

I noticed that after i put the cinnamon in. But the icing is blue so you can't really see it.
but now i know for next time
