I'm not 100% sure, but I think I read here before about making calla lilies out of royal icing????

If that's possible, does anyone have any info on how to do this?

Thanks

Here are the Wilton instructions:

Not sure if it's what you're looking for...I think these are gum paste.

icon_rolleyes.gif I've never seen a calla lily out of royal, but you could probably do something reasonable with the Giant Rose tip (#127D). You'd be making one giant rose petal that would wrap onto itself at the very end and then pipe a stamen into the center with a #11 or #12 round tip. If you pinch the very top of the giant petal (just a bit), it would look more like a calla bloom.

I've made large calla lilies for the center of a cross cake. I made them out of fondant with a bit of gum-tex added to it.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks BlakesCakes and dandelion for your help.

That sounds like a good idea, Blakescakes. I'll give it a try.
Thanks!
