For free, voluntary cakes or just-for-fun cakes, I buy Duncan Hines cake mixes (no bulk). For paid cakes I make them from scratch.

I am usually a scratch baker, but I tried the White almond sour cream cake recipe and it was so good. I went to Walmart and bought 10 boxes of cake mix. I'm thinking I should go get more! I used Betty Crocker, a lot of people on here use Duncan Hines, but they were out of that one. I thought the Betty Crocker was very good, but I have never tried Duncan hines. Maybe you should buy a couple boxes of each brand to see which one you prefer.
