Has anyone tried dipping their cake pops into other than melted chocolate? What about Royal Icing?
Royal Icing sets very hard. Even if you could how would you bite into it.

I suppose you could dip them in buttercream glaze or thinned fondant, but because they're a truffle consistency, I think chocolate is the best coating.
