This is the first time i'm using mmf, and so far its not a good experience icon_sad.gif
I rolled it out on my wilton fondant mat and using my fondant roller, and all it does is stick to the mat! I put crisco on it and then rolled it out, but when i go to roll it on the roller to transfer onto the cake, it just rips apart. Should i cool it down for a bit and try it again? Help!

I just use a lot of powdered sugar/corn starch on my countertop to roll it out. When I do that, it works just like fondant. If it gets a little dry or the sugar makes it look too powdery, I'll roll on a little crisco. But too much crisco makes it really gooey for me. I've never tried a mat, but from what I've heard, they can be a pain... maybe you could just try it on the counter?

Good luck!

Kristy I feel your pain!!! The exact same thing happened to me when I made my first batch of MMF. I ended up cutting it with cookie cutters and then putting it on the cake!!

I tried the Crisco method and it did not work well. I just roll it using a lot of powdered sugar.

The recipe i use says let it sit, wrapped, for one hour. If you use warm fondant, it might melt your icing underneath. Also when rolling out w/ crisco, use only a tiny tiny bit. You only want a thin film on your rolling pin & mat.

I just want to thank you all for your tips. The powdered sugar worked like a charm! The only thing I think I'd do different is make 2 batches so I have more to work with next time. Thanks Again!!! thumbs_up.gif
