My friend's son's birthday is coming up and he's severely allergic to milk and eggs.  For the first time he wants an actual cake for his birthday.  Does anyone have any good recipes?

You can also use the recipe for Wacky Cake  it is an egg free recipe, simple to make and yummy.  Just double the recipe to make a 2 layer cake.  My Mom used to make this when I was a kid.

For icing you will need to use a hi-ratio shortening and icing sugar, thinned with water or milk substitute.

I found this one. Haven't made it yet, but people in the comments have. It says at the end you can replace the milk with soy milk or coconut milk.
