I've searched previous threads but am still in need of advice...A friend is making a cake and covering it with light blue fondant.  It needs a few fluffy white trees on the sides (it's a "Frozen" theme for her daughter's b-day) which look best piped.  Question is, buttercream or royal icing...The buttercream would be the kind made with hi-ratio shortening, ps, flavorings, etc (not real butter).  I'm doing the piping for her and the cake will sit out all night in an a/c room until the party the next day.  I've reading that bc should be fine but I'm terrified of somehow ruining her cake and thinking maybe I should use RI.  Thoughts?

Either will work, don't worry too much about it.
