The reason I had gotten this idea about cake decorating was when my son started school, I thought, "Wow! This would be the ultimate place to sell bday cakes! I wish I knew how to do it!", and I checked to see if I could take the classes by me but, back then, I had no car and it was going to be too much, traveling back and forth on public transportation with the cakes. And I kept on saying I was gonna do it, I was gonna do it... 
So, I finally got a car and I finally did the cake classes! Ok, great, now...how do I get my name out there in the school? Well! I am friends/friendly with the parent-teacher coordinator at my son's school, and she was the one who introduced me to ACMoore. I used to joke with her about how much I hated her for doing that bc I was spending all this time and money there! So, I recently showed her the pix of my cakes I had done and she was so impressed! She asked me for "my card"! But, I don't have one. Just bc, I don't want to do wedding cakes or anything so "extravagant" yet, I just don't feel I am ready and I just happen to love doing kids themes. I like doing fun cakes. Nothing too serious, u know? So, I made a 99 cent album of "better" cakes and I gave it to her, with a page with my name and contact info and now, I AM ON DISPLAY IN THE FAMILY RESOURCE ROOM! The parents go there, all week long, to take classes, get info, and do all sorts of things with the school! I am sooo happy!!! This is what I had originally wanted and I feel like I accomplished exactly what I set out to do! Even if I only get one or two orders, I DON'T CARE!

That's great! I remember the first time I realized that I had loyal clients already. They ordered their cakes from me every year. It was soo soo great!

By the way, you better get started on ideas for Valentine's day...a lot of potential business on that day! I would take pictures of some sample cakes and pass them around already!!!!

Thx everyone! I did already start doing a few Vday mini-cakes and cupcakes. I posted some in my album here. Nothing yet. But, I only gave in the album on Tues of this week so, it is early yet, lol. I am surprised that the people at work r so "cheap" though. 
I don't want to undersell myself, and they r forever complaining about my prices. They think I should be giving away my stuff and it AIN'T gonna happen! I have brought in quite a few cakes already and let everyone try them, I have told them all "I am in this for business, not for charity!". Ugh! But, if I don't sell them at work, where I have the most contact with people, what else can I do? Sometimes it's a little frustrating. Oh well, I really hope my school project works out. Again, thx for the support!
