Has anyone made a chocolate marshmallow fondant? What does marshmallow fondant taste like? I'm going to try to experiment with the recipe posted, but thought maybe someone tried this already.

I really like the MMF, but haven't tried making it chocolate but it does sound good! Maybe somebody else will have tried chocolate and will get back to us!

One description of the taste is like circus peanuts, by that I think they mean the marshmallow candies shaped like peanuts and were colored pink...I'm not sure they even make them any more!

Just remember, don't try to touch the MMF until it cools down quite a bit, it will definitely burn you if it is still hot! Janice

The best way to make chocolate MMF (IMO) is to add 1/4 cup cocoa powder. You can adjust the cocoa powder depending on how chocolate you want the taste. I tried using chocolate squares, melted, and unmelted, neither way worked very well. The chocolate squares had too much oil in them, so the fondant didn't come together properly.

I heard that cakes covered in chocolate MMF can be stored in the fridge, is that true??

I would think that chocolate MMF would be just as unhappy in the refrigerator as regular MMF. I can't think of a reason why the addition of cocoa powder would make it less vulnerable to melting/sweating due to the humidity in the fridge. Just my .02.

I made a cake the other day and covered it with MMF I had it in the fridge because I had buttercream under the MMF. It didn't seem to change the texture of the MMF at all , no condensation either.. Maybe I was just lucky?
