Okay, I've searched around the forums for the answer to this...so my post wouldn't be redundant icon_redface.gif . I would like to save time by baking and freezing my cakes about a week ahead of time.

About how long does a standard 9"x2"(?) round cake take to thaw (gradually in the fridge then to the counter)?

Thanks a bunch,

I usually take the cake out of the freezer the night before I plan to decorate it. Put it on the counter still wrapped and let it defrost. When you are ready to decorate , unwrap the cake and decorate. If done the same day, it probably takes at least 2-3 hours.
