Your recipe and what type of cookie it is will determine how thick you should make the cookie dough in the pan. For my chocolate chip cookie dough cookie cakes I put my batter in about 1" thick which results in an @ 1 1/2" - 2" high cookie cake. For sugar cookie dough, I only do it 1/2" thick. HTH
