Newbie here :-D. So tomorrow I will be assembling my first 3 tiered cake. I've done a lot of research here on CC and am pretty confident its going to turn out well Thank you to everyone here for sharing all of your advice and cake secrets! Wish me luck, I'll post a pic when its done!

AYes GL I just made my 1st fondant cake, its so much fun next is a 3 tier for my LO 1st bday. Be sure to show us a pic when it's all done :]

AThanks guys! Soo here it is...there are definitely some things I wish I would have done differently,but it was a great learning experience. I underestimated the amount of time it would take so I wasn't able to decorate as much as I wanted..and I wanted to make a topper which didn't happen. Critiques welcome! ALooks awesome! What did you use for the letters royal icing ? What were you planning for the cake topper?

AThe only thing I would have maybe done is shine up the apples I tried out the 50/50 of vodka or any clear alcohol and light corn syrup.

So I had another 3 tier cake for today so I wasn't able to respond. srtchick for the cake topper I was going to do a fondant graduation cap. Ive never tried that mixture for shining the fondant, I'm definitely going to try it out soon. Thanks for the response!
