ALately my butter cream seems to be overly crusting. At times it will flake or break away. What should I be doing differently? I use 1 cup shortening , 1 cup butter, 1 c heavy whipping cream , 2#'s powdered sugar a dash of salt 1 -2 Tbsp vanilla and 1 - 2 Tbsp butter flavoring.
ASeems to be the normal recipe...id try adding maybe 1/2 cup less sugar than normal
**8 cups= 2 pounds**
