Just wondering if anyone has used "The Mat" for rolling out fondant. I've been using powdered sugar on my counter top for years, but I'm beginning to think there's got to be an easier way to keep MMF from sticking and taking so much time cleaning up the powdered sugar off my fondant when assembling my cakes. How does it compare to Wilton's mat? Love to hear your feedback.

I really like mine. It is so much nicer not having to clean up powdered sugar or cornstarch. I can't say how it will work with MMF, as I've never used it. It works very well with Fondx, Massa Grischuna from Albert Uster is OK too. Fondarific, not at all. Will not come off when you try to put it on the cake. I plan on making MMF pretty soon to make up some dummy cakes, so I guess I will find out :).
Thanks - that's exactly what I was hoping to hear. The video makes it look so easy but I wasn't sure if it worked that perfect in real life. I'm getting ready to bite the bullet! Do others agree with the feedback?
I love my mat. It is so much easier than rolling on the bench, like I did for 25 or so years. You do need a few more muscles when you are rolling but you can get your icing lovely and thin and on to your cake so easily without it tearing. Whilst this is probably easy for the professionals, I only do about 1 cake a month and this does help me enormously.
Like you, I only do 1 cake a month or so, but I'm ready to make my "rolling life" easier! Thanks for the feedback!
I got one. I have tried using it twice and can't say that I am a fan.
Is it true that it gets better the more you use it?
I have been using the mat with MMF only and it works great! Can't seem to get it very thin though. But I am very happy with the results.
