Okie so will be baking a cake for my niece's birthday this coming weekend and need suggestions on flavours/frostings etc. Last year I made a lemon cake with raspberry filling and it was a hit, but would like to try something different this year. Really open to any flavours, but please suggest a complimenting frosting/filling as well.
The frosting will be a swiss meringue with added flavour as Im not a fan of regular buttercream with powdered sugar. I'll design it ombre ruffle for the outside to go with the ballerine theme if that matters.
Maybe red velvet with swiss meringue buttercream frosting thats made with cream cheese? Since it'll be a small tall cake any other flavour of cake I can add? What about the filing? Not sure if raspberry and cream cheese alternating would be a good option?
