Has anyone ever made a watermelon cake? I have a small box of watermelon jello gelatin I thought about trying to use it in a cake. It will be a few weeks or more before I doing. I was wondering if anyone here has ever done used watermelon jello in a cake before and if there was a recipe that someone could share.

my thought is poke a baked 9 x 13 white cake and pour the jello (made according to the instructions on the box) onto the cake and chill it fully -- just an old fashioned jello cake--

i do make a strawberry cake with jello mixed into the batter -- but i also add real strawberries so don't know how that might work out --

two gelatinous thought for you

AMy aunt (the one that I have disliked all my life) used to make those back in the 70s. Both my sister and I thought it was disgusting, but then, the both of us have always been food snobs.

idk--what else can you do with watermelon jello?--you need another fruit to put in there with it--

here's another vintage idea: strawberry angel food cake dessert

maybe switch the jello flavors and use the strawberries anyhow

enga, omg--they put watermelon in the cake--somehow i thought watermelon would dissolve in there or something--

but they beat it into the egg mixture until it's all smooth so i guess it just gives it's watery best --

but very cool recipe
