Hello,

I'm trying to make some cupcakes for a birthday party and had the idea of making half of them with the girl's first letter. Just had a question on how to make them standing up on a cupcake using modelling chocolate or fondant. I have a picture attached from wilton that has it advertised under the mould. Is that all I would need, wilton doesn't provide instructions.

Do I need sticks to hold them? How thick do I need them to be? Please, any help would be appreciated.

AThat looks like a mousse cup, the bottom is made from a chocolate mold filled with mousse & the letter is also from a chocolate mold.

You can achieve the same look for your cupcakes using either of the tutorials from the links I've posted below. If you want to make them out of chocolate without purchasing a mold you can print out multiples of the letter(s) you need, cover with wax/parchment paper and trace with a piping bag/parchment triangle filled with chocolate (or even royal icing).
