Hi Baking Buddies... a customer requested a chocolate cake with mocha filling.  What frosting would go good with the two?  I'm not sure if buttercream would be okay or if I should cover the entire cake with mocha.  I think that may be a bit too much mocha if I did that.  Any suggestions?

i don't think you can have too much mocha if you are a mochaholic but...

I'm with K8.

Coffee/Mocha frosting and Chocolate cake, Peanut butter frosting and Chocolate cake, Orange frosting and Chocolate cake. . .  . .is there a pattern developing here?

Seriously though, Chocolate is a strong enough flavor to hold up to both mocha filling and frosting.

AAgree with mocha all the way, and I think another flavor (or even non-flavor) would detract from it. I am in the mocha lover's club though too!

Well I went with the mocha frosting all over and used raspberry filling.  It was definitely a hit with everyone.  Thank you for your input...  =)  Wishing you all a great day!
