Does Pipiing Gel Go Off?

Hi.  I haved a tubg of piping gel that I last used in May 2013.  I was told that it didn't really have a use by date or go off and can't see one on the tub.  Just thought I had better check with you guys here to see if anyone knew that it DEFINITELY doesn't go off before I go using it on another cake.  If it DOES go off, does anyone know how long it is recommended to keep it from opening the tub?

ANaha. It lasts forever. The only thing is, it might dry out.

Excellent news.  Thank you.  Just opened the tub and it looks fine.  I had been keeping it in the fridge.  Good to know I'm not going to have to buy any more :)
