AHave a cardboard alcove so the colour is mostly contained, practice a lot and get to know your compressors output. don't get too close to the product or you will have sloggers and runs. Have at least 3 air guns and the resting Stand. Happy airbrushing its so much fun.

Thanks much ... i haven't started yet, I have just ordered my brushes and compressor.

Don't necessarily try to color in one hit.  If the paint is too thick it will drip.  Instead color in several layers.

There is a special offer on craftsy right now that you can buy the airbrushing class for almost half off. I'm thinking about it bc I'm going to buy the airbrush kit next month and want to know the ins and outs without ruining too many cakes in the process:) Has anyone on here bought the class? do you recommend it?

I think it is well worth the money.  I knew nothing except how to aim in the general vicinity of the cake until I watched this.  I really hope that she does a more advanced one in the future, especially using her wafer  paper technique.

ABest to wear a mask, save breathing in the colour and getting it up your nose.

I also recommend you wear a good quality mask AND gloves....it's a lot of fun but I find it very messy :-(

i found this DVD online - Cassie Browns Beginners Guide To Airbrushing Cakes dvd

I did a lot of internet search and it was the only cake related airbrushing training DVD that came up. it looks promising. ... i might just get it.
