I have a couple of them. I do like them and use them alot.
I also, have the fmm ribbon cutter, which is really great because its adjustable.
As far as the Jem strip it really depends on you, if they are worth it to you. For me i like them, but they are locked in to one width.
Thanks ! I have the ribbon cutter with the metal blades.I cut stripes and it starts to stick. I have to take it apart and wash it so I can cut more but somtimes it just keeps sticking .The fondant isn't sticky I run it though the pasta machine first and then sprinkle a little powder sugar over it?
I thought it might be easier to just buy the strips and see if it was any better. Then I wouldn't be taking the cutter apart all the time washing it. Thanks again!
Do any of you who have the strip cutters do quilling? If so, what size (which one) cutter should I buy for quilling?
HI Fronklowes, I havn't done the quilling but I plan on it . In the issue of American cake decorating Aug|Sept.2006 They have a dragonfly in the quilling they did it with the 40 mm Jem striper and they used the quilling tool #11 Jem to make it. I hope this helps.
Thank you! I really appreciate it! That helps a lot.
Jem strip cutters are really worth getting!!!!
Have u tried greasing the metal cutters before using? I have a few metal flower cutters and find it works easier if u grease them 1st
