Hi,

I was wondering what kind of cookies are to be decorated with either meringue or fondant. I know two types of cookies (although I haven't done them) sugar and butter cookies. can these be decorated? any other ones?

Chocolate sugar cookie or shortbread (depending on the shortbread recipe)

Don't forget about gingerbread!!

Also, if you make your favourite chocolate chip cookie dough...omit the chocolate chips...you get a basic, decent, plain cookie, and if you baked it as if it were brownies (aka NOT drop cookies, but rather, press the dough into the cookie tray) you could have thin enough cookies you could use to decorate

I usually take my favorite sugar cookie and add different types of flavoring. Orange, vanilla, lemon, raspberry, etc.

You can also decorate gingerbread, cinnamon and molasses.

Don't forget to leave out the baking powder.
