Flavor Suggestions?

I'm trying to come up with an idea for a friend's bday cake for this weekend. Here are some flavor combinations I'm tossing over:

Choc cake with peanut butter ganache (recipe on CC - has anyone tried it)?
peanut butter cake with choc ganache - might lend a different flavor dynamic switched?

cho cake with cherry filling, choc ganache.

Do any of you sit and really think about what flavors would do well eaten with MMF? I think peanut butter would compliment it - b/c as a kid (and still now) i love pb and fluffinella sandwiches.

If anyone else does this - tries to plan out flavors to go with MMF, do you have any suggestions from experience?

Those all sound fantastic! I'd go with the chocolate cake with PB filling - because I'd rather have more chocolate taste than PB (but that's just my opinion). I haven't tried the ganache recipe - sounds good, though.

I have never really sat down and planned what flavors go with MMF, that is an idea though. I just plan what flavors I or others want. Many people do not eat the MMF anyway so I do not really worry about that flavor combo. I think your chocolate cake with cherry sounds delish. I am not a fan of peanut butter cakes or filling so I guess I am not much help there.

Most ppl eat MMF when I make a cake with it. I have a few who want to takke home the excess b/c they like to snack on it! So I always wonder what goes well with it.

Yummy....I was actuallu sitting thinking about cake combos and what cakes and fillings really go well together.
I think the chocolate cake & PB filling sounds yummy w/ the MMF.......My family loves MMF
