Hi everyone,

I am making a cake for a friend and she has requested a 12inch round cake and a 10inch round cake they are 3 inches high.

I am just wondering how much batter i will need for these?

I will be using box cake mix they are 400g each.

Thanks!!

Hi, I know when I used box mixes I did 1 mix for the 10 inch and 1 1/2 for the 12 inch

but they were 2" deep.....So I would think you will need 4 all together for the 3" deep pans

and you may have some left over to do a little cake for yourself.....

ADoes anyone know how long it takes a 12inch x 3inch mud cake to cook? I'm worried about over cooking. I will be using wet towels around the pan to help it cook evenly I'm just not sure about temperature and times.
