Hi Gianpietrocamis and all the other new posters! I'm not long here myself but it's a great place to hang out. I'm in the UK but I hear cake design and decorating is HUGE in Italy right now.  Would love to go see the Italian Cake Design Festival next year.  Would be a great excuse for a holiday/vacation!

AHello I'm new here as well. I am attempting to make a Gazeebo cake.. it will be an 8 inch cake and I was planning on making the decorative sides lattice work and fancy corner decos I have not used royal icing in a while does anyone have any tips for me I'm not using it to hold up the cake just to place over the columns and kina build the gazeebo on the outside of the cake. I was going to use the wilton royal icing recepie . Open to any ideas or tips. Thank you

AMeasure the sides first. It might be easier for you to print a pattern from the Internet (or templates from cake central?, cover with wax/parchment paper then pipe over that. I'd make extras in case things break. You could also try white chocolate if you're in a hurry since it dries faster

AThank you I will look for the template I am just starting the measurments and I guess I forgot that the columns holding everything up is more in the middle than I wanted. So I'm hoping it all turns out ok I love the challenge of making out of the ordinary cakes ill keep the white choc in mind in case of severe breakage lol can't wait till its done. Ill post a pic on the 17th for all to see..
