Edible Image Wafer Paper On Fondant Vs Royal Icing On A Cookie????

Should I apply an edible image printed on wafer paper to fondant or royal icing on top of a cookie?  I have 100 sheets of paper paper that came with the image printer that I purchased from an individual so I will be using those sheets.

 

I just need to know which medium to apply it to and what is the most effective way to do so.

When I apply edible images to cookies..I just put a very thin smear of butter cream on the cookie then apply the fondant image dircectly on the cookie.

I'm using wafer paper and need to know which is the best medium to apply it to: Fondant or royal icing and how to do it.

Sorry...I guess I'm confused about wafer paper..i only use edible images.  If applying to a cookie...I just don't think you need to use fondant or royal...maybe someone else will chime in for a better response.

I've made cookies that were decorated with wafer paper. I followed the decorations that came with the already printed wafer paper. I iced my cookies with royal icing and let it dry. Then I smeared a little corn syrup on the back of the wafer paper and adhered it right on top of the royal and it dried perfectly. Just watch out as the wafer paper can curl a little, you have to move fast!
