Hi there!
I'm pretty new to caking, but having so much fun learning and experimenting! I've been commission to make a cake for this weekend in Vanilla Praline. I think I've found a good praline cake filling that will work well, but I'm not feeling 100% confident about putting it with my usual vanilla cake (very delicate, cake-flour white cake). Do you think I will be ok, or do I need to go with something denser?
If some of you more experienced bakers could give some advise, that would be great!
Thanks!
~Nicole
I would probably use a more dense yellow cake, but that is just personal preference! I also prefer a more dense cake to a light one though. It sounds like it would be good with either, it just comes down to who is eating the cake and what their preference is.
AIll have to think on your answer, but praline filling sounds amaaazing. I think you can't go wrong either way. Praline is a big flavor, so maybe a delicate bwhite cake would be perfect. But also a denser more strongly flavored cake could hold its own against the praline filling.
AI've decided to go wit my tried and true vanilla. Wish me luck!
Agood luck. make sure to post pics when you're done
AGood luck, I'm sure it's gonna taste great!:-)
