Basketball Cake- How Do I Cover It!!!!!

I have the wilton sports ball pan set-http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E30ABD4-475A-BAC0-5B381DA1BA82E3D3&killnav=1- how in the world do I cover this with fondant? and should I use a pound cake? if there are any tutorials or videos on this I would love to watch them. thanks in advance!!
