Hi all, I am fairly new to the site, well as a member anyway:) I would like to ask an opinion on what type of cream cheese frosting would be best on a spice cake. Should I use a brown sugar CCF or a cinnamon CCF or just a regular really good CCF??? I really value the experience you all have and just wondered what you thought. Thanks!
Never heard of a brown sugar ccf. That sounds amazing. I may have to try it. I like the idea of the cinnamon ccf. Maybe some ground cloves as well. Mmmmm.
I haven't tried it either but I thought it sounded amazing too! I don't know anyone who has ever made it. I came across the recipe online
Fine Cooking magazine has a recipe for a brown butter pumpkin layer cake with a brown butter cream cheese frosting that has brown sugar in it. It's delicious, it tastes kind of like toffee.
Oooh, I hope I can find that magazine (and some smelling salts for Godot). I'm drooling all over my keyboard and it's not a pretty sight.
