AAny suggestions or tips on making a life-like, as realistic as possible looking pig's head complete with apple?

I've sketched the head & have a good idea of the structure. I know sometimes I only realize an easier way to something once I've done it the hard way.

I really appreciate any ideas.

What colors did you use? Whole thing or snout? How did you do ears?

I molded the whole thing. And covered in fondant (tho modeling chocolate might be easier) And the ears were fondant.

I hope that helps a bit

There is a 3D sculpted pig cake tutorial with details about how to make the head look realistic in my blog listed below.

If I did a raw pig, I think I would use the "flesh" color. I think it would be the only use for it, since I have never seen any humans that color ;-) Just a little bit, to keep it pretty light. I would dust it with a flat chocolate brown in all the folds and such.

But I just googled "suckling pig" and some of those are downright gag-inducing, and I am a great lover of bacon and pork chops.

I would use the flesh color, and maybe that impression mold from Marvelous Molds, goosebumps. http://marvelousmolds.com/impression-mats/goosebumps and airbrush the black and brown, I think it would look great, I am sure you can do that one really well, looking at your other cake pics.

AOh my goodness ...I don't know if it's the cherry tomato eyeballs, or the creepy drippy skin...but it looks like a zombie pig!!

My 9 year old and I agree. It is so horrible looking, definitely not appetizing in the slightest. My girl said, " WHO WOULD EAT THAT???"
