AI've been asked to make a North Carolina Tar Heels cake and I can not seem to make the color? I've looked up how to make it from various colors and I've also tried to start out with different shades of blue and work up to it but no luck. Any help will be appreciated! I have done 2 of the UNC cakes. It has been a while but I think I used Wilton's sky blue. Be sure to test the color with a small amount of buttercream or fondant. As I said it has been a while.

 

This is the 2nd UNC Ram cake I made. I tried to get more detail in this one. TFL!

AThat looks great! To me the color looks a little darker blue. I think I may end up just going with the sky blue. Thank you!

I would use Americolor Navy.   That's what I use to get my baby blue color....this looks like a darker version of a baby blue.

Navy is a good idea! I usually use Royal blue with a dab of purple, for my SC blue. Sky blue is MUCH too yellow.

You're welcome! Just a dab at a time, though. I have to say I really have a knack for matching colors. I get them dead-on.
