AJust wondering if brushing a simple sugar syrup on cupcakes (before buttercream) would keep them fresher for longer?
It keeps it nice and moist. I spray it instead of brushing though
AWhat is the sugar syrup i hear people talking about? Do you make it? If so how? Thank you for a reply in advance.
AThink its equal parts sugar and water boiled but i have never made or used it unless i make lemon drizzle cake (but not sure ita the same thing lol), i was wondering about the cupcakes as have seen loads of people talking about it on here lol sorry i havent been much help :-)

Simple syrup is equal parts water and granulated sugar, brought to a boil to dissolve the sugar, then cooled. You can flavor it with extracts if you like (or even a little liqueur).
AOh ok!! Lol thank you sooo much for everyone's help, I'll have to try that. I like the idea of spraying it on that way you have more control over it. I would imagine anyway. Thank you everyone for your help.
AI am gonna try it on some cocktail cupcakes i am making in a few wks, thinking of letting it cool then adding white rum :-D
