I'm going to make a mug of beer for a birthday cake and was wanting to add a can of beer pouring from above.  Wondering the best way to go about making the stream of beer from isomalt?

If you scroll down she tells how she did it.

"Yes, the beer can is real. I used a wood dowel, cut a notch in it so the lip of the can would stick in it, just to hold it better. Then all I did was stick it in the cake and frost it;-)" Wendoger

I melted sugar and poured it gradually along the dowel. once hardened, i pushed it into the beer can

You could also try pouring melted isomalt onto the dowel? Maybe clear isomalt and add a little orangey yellow colour to it to make it look like beer?
