Hi All,

My sister decided that it would be a great idea for me to make her wedding cake, she has given me this picture and told me this is the one she wants...Can anyone help me on how to get those flowers the way they are on this cake?

Wedding is Sat 22nd June and I'm starting to panic...

The flowers are all wired and then fashioned into sprays. As far as I can make out there is a large one for the top tier which goes over the edge of the tier. Then there is one spray with 4 large flowers starting at the topp of the second tier (seen from the top). A smaler spray with 2 large flowers and at the bottom is another large spray.

You can start with the flowers now and bind them into sprays once they are complety dry (2-3 days depending on humidity). Then you will only have to do the cakes in the days before the wedding.

These flowers are wired and taped into several small sprays, which would be inserted into flower picks at different points on the cake.  This is not an easy cake for a beginner - even after many years' experience I still tear my hair out with wired cascades - and much prefer to do unwired flowers stuck directly to the cake - not exactly the same effect, but similar enough perhaps?

Really Suzanne?? Could I be bring alot of trouble on myself?? I did see one similar which seems to have the flowers stuck to the cake, pic below.

My only saving grace is that my mum is a flower arranger, do you think she could work with the flowers and do something? would it be similar to working with normal flowers?
