I don't know about the sucess of freezing cupcakes...however, you can sucessfully freezr extra caake batter! I do it all the time. Put the extra into a ziplock bag and put into freezer. When I need it again, take it out and allow to thaw, snip off the corner of the bag and there ya go!

I freeze baked cupcakes all the time, no problems there. They will be thawed in about 10 minutes.

Have fun!

I frequently freeze too, decorated usually.  When I am making them I just ice them all, what I don't need I put in the freezer.  Great to have them to grab to take along to a friends house or for guests.
