Hey, I have searched for this but can find the answer. We are doing a wedding where the florist is providing a cascade of fresh roses for us to place on the cake when we arrive with it. I've not dealt with this specifically before, and I wondered if there's any particular way to attached the cascade to it, or do you just place it on the cake and arrange it to wrap around the cake as needed?

Or am I thinking wrong about what will be provided? My understanding is that the florist is providing a cascade that has already been wired together, but is that not how it works? If she is just providing individual roses, then I know we would just arrange them into a cascade one by one, but if it's an already wired together cascade, I didn't know if there was something more we need to do to secure it to the cake.

Hope that makes sense! TIA!

If the rose cascade is on a wire, with a long "stem" at the top, you could use a bubble tea straw to insert into the top of the cake, put the "stem" into the straw, then drape the flowers over the cake.  If there isn't a "stem," I'm not sure how you'd do it.  Sorry I'm not much help.

That's how we used to attach flowers way back when, then people started pushing the flowers into the cake.  We know better now.

I would take a little kit made up of some wire, stem wrap and straws, not to mention some floral cutters and scissors.  You probably won't have to do anything more but just to be on the safe side.

Thanks everyone! Just getting back to this thread, INSANE day! icon_eek.gif

So it turns out the florist didn't provide a cascade after all, or even enough roses to form one. We pretty much got the "scraps" left over from decorating the reception. icon_confused.gif
