Hi! I'm a young baker, so not much experience!

I just wanted to get a general opinion, I was wondering if reading to roll icing is the best covering for a cake? I have used it before but found it too sweet and heavy on top of the cake? Also what's the best way to cover the cake properly with this without getting cracks and creases?

Sorry so many questions!!

Thank yoou!

You can also cover your cakes using buttercream and I'm sure there are other things to cover it in.
