Gum Paste Baby Pitting. Why?!?!
Decorating By sixinarow Updated 23 Apr 2013 , 5:10pm by JSKConfections
I made a 50/50 gum paste fondant baby out of a silicone mold, looked great after I took it out. 2 days later, as I'm painting it, I'm noticing little pits have formed in a few places on the poor bitty babe. ![]()
It's for a baby shower cake on Saturday, so I have plenty of time to re-mold a new piece but am wondering..what the frack happened?
Anyone have this happen??
Be sure you have mixed your fondant/gum paste really well so there are no air bubbles in it, and really press it firmly in the mold is all I can think of. I always make like 3 of them and then choose the best one! lol...having those little babies on the counter freaks my hubby out! lol Good luck!!
I agree, I made 3 once and it took awhile to pick out which one I wanted to use! Good luck!
