Attaching A Royal Icing Cross

Heyt here!

 

I have an order for this weekend for a cake with a stand up royal icing cross on top, just wondering how you would attach it?

 

I was thinking of attaching a skewer on the back, but I dont think that would look good.

 

What are your thoughts?

I would attach a skewer to the back, but then cover that with just a very small piece of fondant or gumpaste which is the same colour as the cross....
