I have someone who wants this cake, but with dark yellow on bottom and lighter yellow etc. I am looking for some suggestions on what might look the best.
I was thinking cover whole cake white fondant, then add ribbons of fondant for the other colors. Is this the best way or am I making this harder than it has to be.....

Could it be stripes of butter cream then go over it with a straight edge to blend them?
Or....I can't tell from the picture quality lay strips of fondant, roll it so it fuses together, then wrap the sides of the cake...It's hard to tell with the pic.
I found a better picture of this ombre cake, it's definitely buttercream and not fondant.
