Has anyone tried them?  Is it possible to make a good angel food cupcake from scratch? I never have baked an angel food cake b4, It sounds intimidating. I would really like to try it in a cupcake if possible.  Looking for any tips or good recipe if angel cupcakes are possible.....Thanks!

i have made random shapes of angel food cake in non tube cake pans before

i think the cupcake wrappers might give you a fit but i don't know--they might hold onto too much cake--not release maybe?

i would expect them to give me a fit ;)

but do not open the oven door too soon icon_biggrin.gif

but i'm sure any af recipe would be fine--beat the h*ll out of the egg whites but not over beat--make sure all utensils and pans are grease free

report back if you want to ;)

i would make an af cake and sneak out a couple cupcakes if it was me

but you'd have to bake at separate times so you don't open the oven early on the cake

Well, Just wanted you all to know that I ended up  making Chiffon cupcakes-vanilla.

I watched Alton Brown bake them on youtube.  I baked them in regular cupcake pans with liners and they turned out devine.  At first when they were still warm, they tasted alittle on the eggy side.  but by the next day....oooooh so good.  My family gobbled them all up b4 I had a chance to ice them or fill them.

Here is the recipe I used.
