I have had luck (and I emphasize luck :D) using a small, travel size spray bottle filled with vodka/extract base paints. they're about a $1 ea, so I bought two different kinds to see which spray would have a more airbrush like effect
you have to be careful - use a paper plate as a mask/shield to get it only where you want it. and watch out for clogs - mix your paints well and proceed slowly
if you go this route - experiment with a paper plate - intensity of color at 6-8 inches ?, at 4 inches ?, etc
there is plenty of discussion on the boards about WIlton (and other brand) sprays - I didn't like the chemical smell and was concerned about taste, but it's worked well for others.
good luck to you
AThank you. Have not thought of that! I will try it and see how it goes on a paper plate.
