ANeeding some suggestions for a downton abbey themed cake. Would like to do a 3d of the building. Looks very complicated. I have never done a building and don't know how to go about this. Any suggestions or tutorials appreciated! Thanks

that's a rather huge question but i can tell you how i start a project like that

i make a pattern of my object and bake and stack cake according to the pattern i made

  • get pictures of the house

  • make a pattern to the scale you want the finished product to be

  • bake

  • stack

  • decorate

that's where i start

it will also help to do searches on:

  • how to sculpt cake

  • how to dowel cake

best of the best to you!!!

Edith's wedding cake. After all, someone has to eat it now that the wedding's cancelled.

Wonderful idea!  Here's a photo of the cake:

Now, of course, if you wanted to make it like the Downton Abbey Edith wedding cake, it would need to be fruitcake...... However, this may be more realism than guests in the USA wish to have. (hee hee hee)
