hi i'm new to the site  i bought a giant cupcake mould but have no recipe for it has anyone a recipe or can you give me an idea of the quantity of batter that i need to fill it? thanks!

maybe fill it halfway with water and use that amount as a measure

 

but those big molds can be difficult to bake a real deep cake in them sometimes

I found that it was impossible to bake the bottom and the top parts at the same time and have them turn out right.  If you bake the top part until it's done, the bottom is still gooey inside.  If you bake until the bottom is done, the top is burnt.  It's a pain, but I always bake them separately so that I can control the baking time.

Yeah... we gave up using the cupcake pan and now just bake cakes and carve them down and use the ball pan to make the top.  They just don't bake right together and the thing takes up more oven space than it is worth.  For home use though it is more than fine... I would bake them separately though.
